How Should I Prepare for My Photo Shoot?

Preparing for a photo shoot is essential to ensure that you get the best possible results and make the most of your time in front of the camera. Here are some important steps to help you prepare for your upcoming photo shoot:

1. Communication with your photographer: First and foremost, establish clear communication. Discuss your vision, the desired style, and any specific shots or poses you have in mind. This will help both you and the photographer understand each other's expectations and create a productive environment on the day of the shoot.
2. Decide on styling and clothing: Choose your outfits wisely based on the theme and purpose of the shoot. Opt for clothing that reflects your personality. Depending on the style, you may need to coordinate accessories, shoes, and hairstyles to create a cohesive look. If you're unsure about what to wear, consult with us and we will help you choose what works best for the shoot.
3. Beauty Rituals: Bad hair and bad nails can ruin a photoshoot. We highly advice to renew your haircut and colour 1-2 weeks before the session and to book a manicure and pedicure session 1 week before the session. Wash and blow dry your hair the day before and on the morning of the photoshoot arrive with clean moisturised skin, so we have a good base to do your professional makeup and hairstyling.

4. Get your outfits ready: Make sure you prepare all outfits and accessories the day before the photo shoot to avoid last minute stress. Iron and put each outfit on a hanger, so everything is organised.

5.Get enough rest and hydrate: Make sure to get a good night's sleep before the shoot and stay hydrated throughout the day. Feeling well-rested and refreshed will positively affect your energy levels and overall appearance in the photographs.
6. Plan your timeline: Create a detailed schedule for the day of the shoot, accounting for travel time, parking, etc. This will help ensure that everything runs smoothly and you have enough time to capture all desired shots.
7. Relax and enjoy: Last but not least, on the day of the shoot, try to relax and enjoy the experience. Natural and authentic expressions often translate into beautiful photographs. Remember to have fun and be yourself!

Can my products be shipped to me?

Yes. Your products can be shipped to you. Exceptions are big wall art prints, which are more delicate and best to be handled in person.

Can I buy digitals only? I don’t need prints or I can print them myself…

For each photo you buy, you receive both print and digital copy. The answer to buying digitals only is “no” and there are a few reasons why:

  1. Legacy: the prints we provide are certified 300 years longevity, meaning you will be able to gift them to your children and them - to their children. A photograph of a loved person can be priceless and gains in value with the years passing by. It could be your most treasured memory of someone in your life.

  2. Computer screen calibration: most people use non calibrated screens, which means that the beautiful photos you see in our studio might not have the same perfect nuances once seen on your computer screen. We could never be sure if they both match and the only way to match is through premium quality print we offer to you.

  3. Technology: today, we live in such fast pace and technology is evolving even faster. The digital files we give you today might not be readable on a computer 5 years from now as their support might be considered old by that time. And you might lose them, hard disks die more often that you imagine and your precious memories could be gone forever.

  4. Self-print: of course, there are many photo Labs available online or in your supermarket for you to print your digitals. But the quality of the paper and ink used to print the image is not a premium. So, you won’t be happy with the final result as the screen and paper representation will not match.

  5. Our Brand Belief: We wish to provide you with photos that will empower you in your everyday life. In order to do so, your images should be allowed on your home walls, shelfs or coffee table, where you can see them and let them be that daily boost of confidence and joy. They are not meant to be locked somewhere deep and dark on a hard drive.

When/how will I view my photos ?

Right after the session, your photos will go through a selection process to determine the best 30-40 images. They will go through some basic adjustments and retouching to be ready and presented to you. Two weeks after your photo shoot, you will be invited back for your Reveal & Ordering session. This session can be scheduled at the studio or done via Zoom call. At that moment, you will be required to choose your favourites and place your final order of prints and products like Folio Boxes, Wall Art and gift prints. Therefore, if another person should be involved in the purchase of your images, make sure that person is present at your Viewing session.

What is your retouching philosophy? Can I request advanced editing?

We apply light retouching on your photos. Our practice is to ask each client in regards of how she wants to be retouched and if there are specific areas to be considered. We adapt the level of retouching according to the needs of each client. However, we are limited by time, meaning that if the client requests advanced retouching techniques which demand extra time on each image, we will be able to perform those changes at extra charge per image.

Do you offer both colour and B&W?

Yes. We offer both colour and B&W images depending on the theme of the photo shoot. It could be only colour, only B&W or a mix of both.

Can I post my photos on social media?

Yes. You are most welcome to share your beautiful portraits on your social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. We would highly appreciate it if you tag us on your posts with @zoriart_photography and @zoriart_personal_branding

Will you be publishing my photos online?

We understand that portraits are personal and not everyone is ok with being visible to the world. And we respect that. For that reason, once we present your portraits to you at the Viewing session, we will ask you for your consent to publish one or more of those beautiful images on our social media or website for promotional purposes. It will be your decision to give consent or not and also how many and which specific photos can be shared.

Can I bring a friend with me to my photo shoot?

Yes. You can definitely bring a friend with you for support. It makes the experience even more fun.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

We understand that life can be unpredictable. Our rescheduling policy is to inform us 24 Hours prior to your photo session. Then, we will suggest another date for it.

How much does a photo shoot cost?

Magazine-style portrait collections start at CHF 1200. My clients spend CHF 2000 on average.

Headshot sessions start at CHF 400 and Personal Branding sessions start at CHF 1500.

Can I upgrade my package?

Yes. You can book your session with your selected package and upgrade if you wish during the Viewing session.
